A Call From God

Scripture

Jeremiah 1:19 - They will fight against you but  will not overcome you,
for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.

Observation

God called Jeremiah.
Jeremiah felt inadequate.
God knew Jeremiah's concerns.
God guided,  assured & encouraged.

Application

To remember that God is the one who called.  He will help and grant me the strength and wisdom to raise Charis, Caryn and Charity to be women of faith.  I am not alone!

Prayer

Dearest Heavenly Father, thank you for the call and encouragements.  Thank you for blessing me with 3 precious lives.  Thank you for letting me be a part of your plan.  Please continue to guide and lead me.

Stop Talking!

Scripture

Psalm 139: 4 – Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.

Observation

* knows God's love & care for him
* praises God for His work in his life
* tells God the situation
* surrenders to God

Application

To remind myself that God knew about my situation.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the reminder. It is a simple thing but most of the time I still forget. Forgive me for complaining and belittling you. Help me to remember today that indeed before a word is on my tongue you know it completely and you care for my family more than I do. Help me to learn to praise and surrender to you. Once again, thank you for your unfailing and everlasting love. I love you. In your precious name – Jesus, I pray, Amen.

It's All About God

Scripture

Job 1: 21 - “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”

Observation

Job has everything – wife, children, health, money etc. He was almost a perfect man - a man who was blameless, upright. He feared God and shunned evil. Yet unfortunate things still happened to him.

Application

To remember it is God who give even if He choose to take any or everything away from me one day. It is not about me but all about Him!

Prayer

Dearest Father in Heaven, thank you for the things You have given to me – a wonderful husband, three beautiful princesses and a great helper.

Help me:
to be contented with what I have.
to remember not to complain but to give praises.
to remember it must be for a purpose that You have blessed me.
to hold on to You regardless of what happen.
to draw myself nearer to You every day of my life.

Thank You for loving me always. In Jesus’ name, I pray…. Amen.

Die To Self

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I am sorry for being stubborn, sorry for always wanting to prove I am right and... Sorry that I been having this bad attitude of wanting to get it back to those people who upset me. Father, I am very sorry for not setting good example as a mum and as a child of Yours… Please help me in this area, help me to die to self and help me to respond as You would. In God I Trust

Scripture

Judges 7:10-11 - If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp." So he and Purah his servant went down to the outposts of the camp.

Observation

God gave His promise that He will deliver the Midian to Gideon’s hand.
The purpose God took away 31700 men and left 300 men was so that the people will not boost about their strength when they win the battle.
God knew that Gideon was afraid when there were only 300 men left.
God did not scold or punish Gideon for being afraid instead He encouraged Gideon.

Application

To trust and look to God when He put me in challenging situation. To remain myself that God knew how I feel and think.

Prayer

Dearest Father, I pray that you will help me to always look to you and to trust you when I am in challenging situation. I am sorry for the many times which I have complaint to you. Please forgive me. Help me in this journey of trusting and surrendering everything to you. Thank you so much for loving my family.

Compass Of My Life

Scripture

Numbers 13:30 - Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it."

Observation

As commanded by the Lord, Moses sent out 12 leaders to explore the land.  All of them came back with the same report that the people living there were powerful.  However when it comes to whether they can take possession of the land, Caleb is the only one who said they certainly can.  I noticed that despite being the minority with Joshua, Caleb did not fail to voice out and stand firm on what he believe in.  Caleb had a positive mind.  Though it is not written, I feel that Caleb can be so sure is because his faith is anchored on God.  How else will anyone put his and other people’s lives in danger?  He could utter those words of conviction based on his close relationship with God. 

Application

· To have God as the compass of my life by growing deep in the Word of God, thus drawer nearer to Him; and

· To stand firm on what the Lord is able to do than dwell in negative thoughts or words from people.

Prayer

Dearest Father, I pray that you will help me to grow deeper in your Word and closer to you.  I know that without knowing you or having a close relationship with you, I will waiver or even make wrong decision when situations arise.  I pray that you will help me in this journey of building my faith.  I want to follow Caleb’s example to be sure of what you are doing and can do than to focus on myself.  Help me, I want you to be the Compass of my life!

GOD HAS CALLED – BE OBEDIENT

Scripture

Genesis 18:19 - For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."

Observation

God is concerned about the upbringing of children.
God had chosen Abraham to be Father who will guide his children. It is an authority given by God.

God had in mind what He wanted to bless Abraham, God requirement
for Abraham was to do his own part to direct and keep the way of the Lord and God will bring about what He had promised.

Application

To be faithful on what God had asked me to do.Not to do the many things but to do the one thing that He wants and be focused. To direct my children and household to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just.

Prayer

Dearest Heavenly Father, thank you for using this verse to speak to me. Indeed I have been distracted with the many things that are happening around and miss out the one thing which You had asked me to do. Forgive me that I have lived a committed Christian life than a Surrendered life. May you help me to stay focus on the one thing that You have already called me to – that is to serve my family. I pray that as I commit the following years to serve You as a wife and mother. Please help me in this journey, I need you to lead and guide me. Without your leading and guidance, I know that I will be just managing it instead of shepherding it.

Father, I commit all these to Your hands. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Forgiveness & Faith

Scripture

Mark 11:22 : "Have faith in God," Jesus answered.

Observation

• Peter’s actions reveal what is in his heart.  By remembering and saying it to Jesus, shows that he did not believe the things which Jesus prayed.

• Jesus deals with Peter in the area of his Faith.  I felt that during this moment, Jesus was also talking to the rest of the disciples that even though they may not say out, as long as they have doubt in their heart, it is consider the same.

• Jesus also point out one of the blockage to prayer is when we have anything against anyone.  If we cannot forgive the person, how can we ourselves accept God’s forgiveness in our life?  If we cannot accept God’s forgiveness, then we would not believe that what we pray for will be answered.

• Note here, Jesus did not comment on whether who is in wrong or right.  As long as there is unforgiveness in our heart, we need to deal with it.

• I believe that when we are in a posture of forgiveness, we are in a posture of humility because we know what Jesus in charge.

 

Application

• I need to put my faith in God.  I should not doubt or to come up alternative plans when I have already pray.

• To always check the condition of my heart if I have anything against anyone.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you always for your love and grace upon my life.  Thank you for all the things which you have done to me.  Indeed you never fail me.  Father, I just want to commit myself unto you.  I pray that you will help me in the area of Faith.  I want to confess to you that sometime when I pray I do not believe that you will provide, heal etc.  Father, I ask for your forgiveness that you will help me in this journey of Faith.

Dear Father, I also want to pray that you will grant me a sensitive heart to know that when my heart is not right or when I have things against anyone, may you prompt me.  Help me to love everyone who is around of me, not with my love buy yours.  Thank you Father for hearing my prayers and loving me.  Thank you.  In Jesus’ name, I prayed
