Lead Me Lord!

Scripture
Psalm 5:8 - Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies---make straight your way before me.
Observation
This is David's pleading to the Lord that he needed the Lord to lead him in his righteous ways and lead him out away from his enemies.
Application
I was reminded by the Lord when we choose this particular verse in our song for the church anniversary Lead me lord . I felt so helpless and down when I think of the people especially my fellow Filipino who just spend their time idling in Lucky Plaza every Sunday instead of using their time worshipping the Lord. They need to hear the good news so that they may be saved. I and my group are trying to coax our fellow Filipino to join us by forming outreach activities wherein they can spend their time leasurely and at the same time bringing the love of Christ to them.
Prayer
I pray to the Lord almigthy that he will continue to lead me as well as my team to reach out and bring more people to His saving grace so that they may be brought away from the enemy who is strongly pulling them away. In the migthy name of Jesus I pray Amen!
Unwavering Focus

Scripture
Psalm 95:1-2 – "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song."
Observation
As I read these verses, I was reminded of the ongoing Go4rth conference at the Singapore Expo. I called my wife if she would want to come with me for the night conference and she agreed. As we were alighting from the Expo MRT, there are many people going into the Expo hall. Since the conference is at hall 3 we have to pass by hall 6, 5 and 4 first. It's very difficult to walk as the whole corridor was packed with streaming people but as we pass by hall 5 & 4, people start to dwindle until we reach hall 3 with only a handful of people entering the narrow gate of the conference hall.
Application
Our spiritual life is not smooth sailing as we are obstructed with many worldly things. There are lots of promotion and attractive sales going on along our way. I am easily distracted with all these things especially electronic gadgets and my wife with the John Little sale. We thought of why not enter these widely open doors with attractive posters and buntings hanging around. We might as well be able to find a great bargain. We slow down and tried to see and observe the enthusiasm and excitement of the crowd but our resolve to attend the Seminar was strong and we continued until we reach the place. It's a very cool and quiet place indeed to be in the place where you are with the body of Christ.
Prayer
Dear God, I pray that our focus in you should not dwindle and always lead us to your place. Keep us Lord not to be swayed and distracted by the worldly affairs. In the most precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!
Selflessness

Scripture
Philippians 2:3-4 - “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also to the interest of others.”
Observation
Selflessness is a basic trait and characteristic that Paul had set for the Philippian believers. This is also what all Christians ought to do if they consider themselves as true believers of Christ. However, we can never be truly selfless on our own strength. But only through Christ who gives us strength!
Application
Sometimes I found myself suppressing the basic rights of others. It is so easy to feel superior and don’t give due respect to the seemingly under-privileged individual. May God help me remember what He has commanded us that we should love one another. “Whatever you do to the least of your brother, you have done it to me”.
Prayer
Dear God, please help me to be always humble and respectful to everyone; to be mindful of their needs and not only of my own. If only every individual can be selfless, caring and loving, then this world would be a wonderful place to live in. In Jesus’ name I pray.
For When I am Weak, Then I am Strong
Scripture
2 Corinthians 12:9a - 'But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
Observation
In times of trials, when everything in life seems difficult especially so in my work place, when the bosses and those in power always make my life difficult and there seems to be no letting up, I tend to be frustrated and would question the Lord why He would let such things happen. I know that such things are part and parcel of life and I know that God will always intervene in His own ways. But I tend to be restless and cannot wait for His provisions and intervention.
Application
But I've learned to wait for His promises. My God always has his own timing in everything for me. I've learned to console and assure myself of what He has promised: That He won't let me go through trials and temptations beyond my ability to bear. That even though I may fall into temptations, He will still provides a way out for me in order that I will not succumb to them.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for always providing for me. Forgive me for my inadequacies by getting easily frustrated. With all your manifested power of intervention and deliverance in any difficult circumstances, I am made stronger to withstand and overcome future trials in life. Thank you, Lord that though I am weak, your power is always make perfect in my weaknesses.
