The Power Of Honesty
(Entry Date : December 4th, 2011)
Scripture
1 Samuel 15:22 - But Samuel replied:
“Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obeying the LORD?
To obey is better than sacrifice,
and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
Observation
To obey is better than sacrifice. Be honest.
Application
Be faithful in little things, in the right time God will put u in charge of greater things.
Prayer
Thank You Lord for teaching me an impt value in life, that's to be honest. Give me the grace to do what is right in Your eyes. And to do the things that'll please Your heart.

Mind Your Lips
(Entry Date : August 7th, 2011)
Scripture
Ephesians 4:29 - “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”.
Observation
Our tongue is a powerful weapon that is able to heal or to kill, to build or to destroy. Nowadays I observe that there’s a lot of talkers instead of prayers. We comment on how the preacher preach today or how the worship was not so well done in certain areas. We comment that the event is not good enough and so on....
We don’t need “judges”, the world has enough of them, we need prayer warriors and people who really spent time praying when they see something is not right.
- We have no right to comment if we’ve not done our part to help!
Application
* Learn to speak words of encouragement.
* Be generous with my praise towards people in a world that loves to criticise.
* Be slow to get angry & quick to give praise.
* Learn to build others up instead of putting them down.
Prayer
Lord, teach me how to “Look, Speak, Act and Love” as you’ve shown us through the life of Your Son. I have many weakness, but I know that “all thing can be done through Christ who gives me strength”. I pray that when people looks at me, they’ll see little Jesus in me. Amen!

I'll Be Back!
(Entry Date : Apr 10th, 2011)
Scripture
Galatians 6:8 - ‘Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Observation
This law applies to both Christians and those who are not. What we have been sowing, we will surely reap of the same kind and measure or even greater, cause they will bear fruits.
What are we sowing today?? Is it gossip, bad-mouthing, hurting people with our words...etc? Or is it encouraging people, praying for others, letting people feel welcome, friendly, or even using our money wisely to bless the poor and needy? Have a kingdom mindset! Are we using our money only for our pleasure? Or are we using it to advance God's kingdom so that people can come and know God? Some things will take effect immediately, other will take time but we all reap what we sow.
Application
I want to learn to speak words of praise that will encourage people rather than hurting them. So I have to always remind myself that I will reap what I'm sowing today.
Prayer
Father, forgive me if I have sowed seeds that have brought pain or hurt to others. Always remind me that whatever I'm sowing today, it will come back to me one day. So teach me to live my life as a blessing to people around me.

The Promise
(Entry Date : Dec 10th, 2010)
Scripture
1 Samuel 1:10,1 1,1 9, 20 - In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the LORD, weeping bitterly. And she made a vow, saying, “LORD Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”
Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the LORD and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the LORD remembered her. So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the LORD for him.”
Observation
Hannah has kept her promise to the Lord in dedicating Samuel, her son to God.
As I reflected on my life, there're many promises which I've made to the Lord. Most of the time, they are during my times of need.
Have I fulfilled the promises that I've made?
God will do His part, but have I done mine ?
God remembers! And He's still waiting. Are there still outstanding things which we've promised but not done yet?
Application
I want to learn to be quick to fulfill the promise which I've made to the Lord. And not to make empty promises.
Prayer
Lord, I thank u for being faithful to your promises. And also answering our many prayers. I know that many times I've made empty promises, please forgive me and give me the strength to go on this journey. In Jesus Name, I pray!

Nothing But The Best
(Entry Date : October 4th, 2009)
Scripture
1 Chronicles 21:22-24 - David said, I will not offer to the Lord an offering that costs me nothing.
Observation
Even though the owner of the landlord offered David to take anything that he needs for his offering to God, David did not go cheap on that. Instead he insisted on paying the full price for the land and offering as a sacrifice to the Lord. It simply speaks of how important our offering to the Lord must be. If you've something to offer to God, ministry, offering, going the extra mile, planning a church event, etc... Don't go cheap; give your best to the Lord because He has given His best to you.
Application
I want to give my best to God and not the leftovers. What does true giving means? Doing things that are not simply out of convenience, giving till it hurts. Putting others first instead of myself. So that God will receive the glory when people look at my life, to be a living testimony for Him. Many give out of their plenty, but the widow gave the 2 copper coins which was all that she had.
Prayer
Father, teach me to look at eternal things. That when I offer a gift, may I seek to bring you the best, and not just to get by. The best offering that I can give to u is my life, it may not be perfect but just as I am Lord, for your greatest glory. Help me Lord, this I pray in Jesus name. Amen!
