Plumbline Me, Lord!
(Entry Date : April 8th, 2012)
Scripture
Amos 7:8 - And the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Amos?” “A plumb line,” I replied. Then the Lord said, “Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.”
Observation
Plumb Line:
*a weight with a pointed tip on the bottom
*suspended from a string and used as a vertical reference line
*since the time of ancient Egypt
*to establish the nadir (opposite point) with respect to gravity of a point in space
God’s Plumb Line is used as illustration in Amos to “straighten out” the Israelites for they had gravitated away from Him
I need God’s Plumb Line to keep me in check in case I lean away from Him!
Application
I need God’s Plumb Line to straighten me out, so I will not drift or stray…….
I need the right “Plumb Line posture” with God.
Prayer
My Abba Father, I pray that your Plumb Line………..
- will always straighten my heart so I am in line with your ways
- will straighten my life in you so I will not stray
- will keep me in check so I am accountable to you daily
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen!

Trust Prevails, Absolute Trust Prevails Absolutely
(Entry Date : Aug 25th, 2011)
Scripture
Proverbs 3: 5,6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart; lean not on your own understanding. In all things, acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.
Observation
We say: “in God we trust” (btw, so do the Americans)
But is that really true? Do we really trust in God? Absolutely?
Then, why do we still lean mainly on our own understanding?
We trust in God interpretatively in the way we want to humanly understand and
accept. As long as it “suits me”...... Our heart, mind and lips are not in sync!
Application
I say: “Lean our own human understanding IN & TOWARDS the God we Trust!” and not just pay lip service of “I trust in you Oh God, but......” I say: “but me no buts.....” or in this case “but God no buts”! Apply God’s wise teaching in life and my life path is already crafted by Him.
Prayer
Let my heart, mind and lips be in tandem with each other unto You, Oh My Lord.
Help me trust in You absolutely in my heart, within my mind and through my lips.
I may falter along the way but I TRUST You will make my path straight as I acknowledge you in all things and not lean on my own human understanding. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen!
