    Scripture

Numbers 11 :34-'Therefore the place was named Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who craved for other food.'

    Observation

The Israelites were sick of the manna that God gave them. Instead they wanted meat, so they complained and complained. The next day, the Lord sent them meat, quail which he drove from the sea. However, when the meat was still in their mouths, not yet swallowed, the Lord's anger was upon them and struck them with a severe plague. Therefore, the place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, The Graves of Craving.

    Application

God was angry because His people were not content with what they had. They dwelled in the negative and only complained, never thanking God for what He had given them. We, in modern times, are also like the Israelites. We are seldom happy with what we have, no matter how much we have. I have to learn how to be content, no matter how little or much we have.

    Prayer

Dear God, help me to be content with what I have. Help me not to be greedy and thank You for what I have instead of complaining about what I don't. Amen.
